Reformer Pilates

Reformer Pilates

At Morr Movement, we are passionate about getting every body moving. We understand and embrace that every body moves differently, each with our own goals. Reformer Pilates is a great way to increase your strength, range of motion, balance and flexibility through a mind-body connection. We aim to get you moving better within the studio so that you can reap the benefits in your busy day-to-day life.

We welcome a wide range of individuals into our classes; including beginners, those with injuries, pre/post natal clients and seniors. See below for a description of our class types to determine which would be the best fit for you. If you have any questions regarding these class types, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Clinical Pilates Keilor

Form

FORM is for every body.

Our open level FORM class is suitable for beginners, pre/post natal clients and those with minor injuries – as well as the experienced pilates-goer.

FORM begins with basic movements of each exercise, moving through layers and progressions to cater to a range of skill levels. You can expect movement patterns that target your strength, flexibility and control.

With an opportunity to work at your own pace, this class provides a great foundation and allows you to notice your progress throughout each session.

Fly

FLY is is our fast-paced reformer workout.

With the use of the jump board and other props like balls, circles, bands and weights, FLY is designed to get your heart rate up and test your strength. While still focusing on body alignment and control, you will experience a mix of sweaty jump sequences and strength flows.

Recommended for those who have attended FORM classes first, or have been previously practising at another studio.

This class is not suitable for first-timers, injuries or pre/post-natal clients.

Mums and Bubs

MUMS & BUBS is our reformer session for our new mumma’s.

Based at a beginner level, our Mums & Bubs class is tailored to the new mum, with exercises designed to support you throughout your postpartum journey by strengthening and stretching.

These classes are similar to our FORM open level classes, although will focus more on core activation and engagement, remaining on the gentler side for your changing body.

Welcome to bring your bubs along to the class with some snacks and/or toys handy to keep them entertained during your session. You are able to stop and attend to your little one at any time during the session. Suitable for babies 0-24 months (but please chat to us if your child is older than this).

To book your first class, head to www.morrmovement.com.au and follow the prompts to book your session.

You will automatically be redirected to our booking system (Momence) where you are able to secure your session by purchasing a class pack or membership.

Once you have an account with Momence, you are able to download the Momence app from the App Store or Google Play for ease in future bookings.

We strongly recommend that you book your class ahead of time to ensure you are able to secure a spot. We are unable to guarantee that there will be an available spot in the class if you have not pre-booked.

Please be aware that in the event that you do show up without a prior booking, it is up to the discretion of the Instructor whether you will be able to attend.

For your first class, we recommend that you arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled class time. This allows you enough time to meet your Instructor, tour the studio and get a run through of how our Reformers work.

We recommend that you come prepared by wearing exercise clothing, bringing along a drink bottle and a pair of socks (socks are not essential but definitely preferred – especially grip socks).

While it is not a requirement that you must have a pair of socks, we do strongly recommend wearing them for hygiene purposes. Grip socks are an even better choice to ensure that you can complete all exercises safely. You are able to purchase grip socks at the studio.

We offer a 5 minute grace period for late comers to join in on the class. If you arrive after this 5 minute period, unfortunately you will not be able to participate as you will have missed crucial sections of the warm up. Your late arrival can also be a distraction for other participants in the class.

Please be aware that is up to the sole discretion of the Instructor whether you are able to participate in the class.

In the event that you have arrived late to your class and you are not able to participate, you will either forfeit the class or if on an unlimited membership, will be subject to a $15 cancellation fee.

If you need to cancel your class, you are able to do this via Momence. It is important that you remove yourself from the class as soon as you are able to. Any cancellations that are actioned less than 8 hours before the scheduled class time, it will be classed as a late cancellation and you will either forfeit your session or if on an unlimited membership, you will need to pay a $15 late cancellation fee.

If you are wanting to book a certain class but there are no more available spots, you are able to add yourself to the waitlist. If there are any cancellations, you will be automatically added into the class and can be notified of this change up to an hour before the class commences.

If you have added yourself to the waitlist but can no longer make the class time, please remove yourself from the waitlist to allow for the next client on the list to move up.

If you move from the waitlist and choose not to attend the class, or cancel outside of our early cancellation window (less than 8 hours before the scheduled class time), you will be subjected to a late cancellation/no show, where you will either forfeit the class or will need to pay a $15 fee (if on an unlimited membership).

Unfortunately, you are unable to transfer or share your purchased sessions with another client.

If you are pregnant – congratulations! We offer pregnancy friendly classes although we do recommend only attending our ‘FORM’ (beginner) class as our other class types may not be suitable.

It is important that you do chat with your doctor or obstetrician and gain clearance to attend pilates classes before you book in.

To attend a class, you must be at least 14 years old and be supervised or attend with a parent/guardian. You are able to attend a class without the supervision of a parent/guardian once you reach the age of 16 years old.

Of course! We have a seating area at the front of our studio where your children are able to sit. You are solely responsible for your children when they are in the studio and you will be able to see them at all times from your Reformer.

If you do bring your children along, please be mindful of the noise level as it is important that they are not distracting other clients or the Instructor.

Unfortunately, we are not able to extend the expiry dates on your class pack unless there are extreme circumstances.

If you are on a weekly membership, you are able to freeze/hold your membership by contacting us in writing with at least 7 days notice by emailing us at pilates@morrmovement.com.au

Please be aware that a membership freeze is applicable on a temporary basis only, with a maximum period of 8 weeks throughout the calendar year. A hold or change to your membership cannot be backdated.

If you are wanting a private session, get in touch with us at pilates@morrmovement.com.au

We would love to work with you!

Our general private sessions are undertaken by our Instructor, Hayley. If you are wanting a Clinical Pilates session to focus on injury rehabilitation, this is undertaken by our Osteopath, Dr Mark Orr.

Private sessions are not able to be booked online and are only available at limited times, so you will need to contact us directly.

Wellness Studio

A boutique wellness studio comprising of an infrared sauna and cold plunge for you to use as a recovery studio or mindfulness space.
[coming soon]

Benefits of an infrared sauna

  • Detoxification: Infrared saunas have been shown to be 7 x as effective at detoxing the body than traditional saunas. Sweating is the body’s most primal method to remove toxins at a cellular level.
  • Improved immune system: Heating our body creates a natural fever state that helps us fight off infection and illness. This is done by stimulating the production of white blood cells.
  • Pain relief and muscle recovery: Increased blood circulation provides oxygen-rich blood to fatigued muscles, helping them relax and recover.
  • Improved sleep quality: Infrared saunas use red light, which boosts melatonin production in the body. This plays a major role in your circadian rhythm.

Benefits of a cold plunge

  • Decreasing pain associated with post exercise muscle soreness
  • Promoting faster re-oxygenation of fatigued muscle
  • Spike in dopamine (the happy hormone)
  • Accelerates metabolism

Morr Movements hot/cold contrast recommendations

Sauna alone- 35-45 minutes at 50-55 degrees (if its your first time we recommend no longer than 20 minutes or splitting your time in the sauna with a cool shower between)

Cold plunge alone- 11-15 minutes, finishing with a cool shower.

Morr Movement Contrast for wellness– If you are looking to get the most out of your session in the wellness room look no further than Morr Movements contrast therapy. Ensuring you raise your bodies temperature by using the sauna first then immersing yourself in the cold plunge has the greatest impact on your recovery and mental state.

We recommend a 20-25 minute sauna followed by a warm shower rinse and into an 8 minute cold plunge up to your neck.
