Pregnancy at Morr Movement
As Hayley and Mark’s baby is due in under two weeks now we thought it fitting to write a blog on how Morr Movement helps women throughout their pregnancy.
Musculoskeletal pain is very common in pregnancy, according to the research the main complaints are lower back, wrist and hip pain (Kesikburun et al., 2018) However Mark also sees a lot of rib related pain.
Morr Movement takes a holistic approach to your pregnancy with hands on therapy in the osteopathic clinic serving as a non-invasive tool to ease tight muscles and aching joints while keeping you moving in the pilates studio in a safe and understanding environment. We have props such as pillows and wedges to ensure your comfort late into your pregnancy. And YES we are of the firm belief that keeping you exercising as late into your pregnancy will have the greatest outcomes for both you and your baby.
A common question Mark gets all the time from his pregnant patients is “can osteo’s flip my baby?” the typical osteopath will not flip your baby. There may be some women’s health specialised osteopaths out there that can assist you with this but this is usually performed by an obstetrician. Instead what an osteopath can do to help is prepare your hips and pelvis for birth by easing tension and relaxing the pelvic floor.
As always we are here to chat about anything you may need so feel free to reach out via instagram DM @morr.movement or via email osteo@morrmovement.com.au or pilates@morrmovement.com.au if you are expecting or are interested in how we can help in the future.
